When Did Being Gay Become A Straight
Issue?

If only 10% of the population is gay that
means 90% of heterosexuals vote on gay issues. There's something
wrong with this picture.
I'm not sure when it happened, but when did
being gay become a straight issue?
Let's take gay marriage for instance. I don't
remember a time when gay people were asked to vote on heterosexual
marriage so why are heterosexuals allowed to vote on ours?
The majority of heterosexuals spend so much time worrying
about what rights gay people should be allowed to have they
forget to worry about their own inconsiderate, rude, poorly
raised children and their own marriages, which according to
statistics aren't doing so well.
A majority of heterosexuals need to keep
their hands out of the gay community and start worrying about
themselves, and let us worry about us. The only thing the
gay community is asking for is to have the same civil rights
as every other tax paying American citizen which is guaranteed
to us under the Constitution of the United States Of America.
Why do we even care what straight people
think about being gay? Why do we always ask straight people
what their thoughts are on the gay community? What difference
does it make? They're not gay, they don't understand what
it means to be gay, so what's the point?
Whenever you watch the news and a gay issue
comes up the first thing they do is find the most bigoted
person they can and ask them what their thoughts are about
the gay community. Maybe the media should come into the community
and find out what it means to be gay, and show us in the light
we should be shown in, which is a community that is filled
with love for one another, one that doesn't ask you to be
something you're not. A community that only wants you to be
true to yourself.
How many times have you been out in public
and heard someone say to someone else, "That's so gay."
Obviously the person is heterosexual and would have no idea
what gay even is. We are raising a nation of bigots and making
it perfectly acceptable for people to discriminate against
a whole community because they have no idea what we're about.
Gay issues are not straight issues. Being
gay is not a straight issue and never will be.
